CHARIS HIGH ACADEMY CELEBRATES 6TH WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY WITH PLANTATION DRIVE AND INTER-HOUSE COMPETITIONS

JUNE 5, 2026: Charis High Academy marked its 6th World Environment Day with a vibrant plantation drive and a series of high-energy inter-house competitions held across the campus today. Aligning closely with this year’s global theme, “Inspired by Nature. For Climate. For our Future,” the school organized a diverse programme designed to blend artistic expression, intellectual debate, and deep environmental awareness among its students. Addressing the gathering, Vice Principal Miss Chubasenla Jamir delivered a stirring speech emphasizing the urgent need to tackle climate change and actively promote sustainability. She reminded the students and faculty that environmental stewardship is far more than a civic responsibility—it is a fundamental moral duty for the incoming generation.

The event featured fierce competition across various age groups, with the school’s houses—Japfu, Saramati, Dzukou, and Shirui—vying for top honors. In the senior categories, Japfu House dominated the newly introduced Videography Eco-Reel Competition, clinching the winner’s trophy through the team of Seyiesenuo Theuruo, Lonika K Awomi, Sesino Shuya, and Kezevituo Rupreo, while Saramati House’s Thanglam, Avikuonuo Shuya, Lireni Odyuo, and Ayani T Ezung secured the runner-up spot.
